fkdub Skrevet 7. januar 2017 Del Skrevet 7. januar 2017 Hi, Some of you may remember my clutch problem last year when driving from Vesteralen to France in march. It worked at least until France, then it fucked and I had to change the all clutch system. I'm back in Norway now (in oslo) with another problem ! Since Amsterdam I'm driving with the "engine problem light" on. In Amsterdam a Land Rover garage charged me 180 euros to update the computer software and then the light disappeared. They didnot find anything wrong. After 400km the "engine light" came back again and I've been driving from Bremem (Germany) til Oslo with this light on. But who knows ? I will drive monday or tuesday up north Vesteralen again, and I'm getting stress with this problem. I just hope it could be only a electrical problem such as a "probe" or sensor... Does anyone had this problem ? or any tips ? Thanks in advance, Franck Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…

Kaldevass Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Del Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Hello Franc Without fault codes / llive data its hard to diagnose it. Are all the fluids OK ? any lack of power ? The MIL light can show for many different reasons. It could be the wire going to the turbo in the loom getting chaffed, the EGR valve is mentioned, the cylinder head temp sensor, crankshaft sensor out of position after the clutch change etc My Map sensor was really covered in crap when we replaced the VCV (controls fuel to the engine but this rarely shows a MIL light). You havent mentioned any other symptoms, doing remote diagnostics is hard without information. The EGR can be turned off, but it needs to work first, do you hear the EGR run through the self clean routine when you switch of the engine ? 180 euro´s for upgrading the software is robbery. I have lots of 2,4 spares in my shop in Bergen and a complete used engine & gearbox should the worst happen. Good luck and let us know if we can help you. fkdub Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Forfatter Del Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Hi Glen, Yep all fluides ok, no lack of power, nothing unusual in fact. I still hear the noise (clic) from the EGR when I switch off the car (I've always heard it). The Def runs perfect with this "MIL light" on, making me stress !! I guess when updated the software in Amsterdam they check the OBD diagnostic ? If I find a garage in Oslo, Do you think they could find the problem and ruined me by spending hours ? Does anyone knows someone around Oslo would could check ? Franck Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
Neverluren Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Del Skrevet 8. januar 2017 The EGR should mean lack of power and going to limp mode. Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
fkdub Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Forfatter Del Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Do not have lack of power, so might be something else. On the other thread "Defender", Mils recommand me : Call Strømmen bil Kenneth http://www.strommenbil.no/index.php I 'll try tomorrow to contact and go there. Don't want to drive in winter 1600km with this uncertain problem ! Hope it won't ruined me. Thanks for help. Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
Kaldevass Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Del Skrevet 8. januar 2017 Any garage with a reader would be able to read any fault codes. I don't think the EGR is a problem, so find a garage or some one who can help in Oslo to read off the codes if any. There is something triggering this hence why it came back, after a while. Im sure some one in Oslo will come forward and help. Or you have the main dealers, but they have main (expensive) hourly rates. Glen Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
fkdub Skrevet 10. januar 2017 Forfatter Del Skrevet 10. januar 2017 Hi, just come back from Strømmenbil and after diagnostic, Kenneth find a EGR fault valve or sensor. Without taking off all, we could see some little burned dirst. He run a "Revive cleaner" for few minutes to burn the shit things. Big normal smoke for 10 minutes. Then the MIL light disappear and everything seems ok for now. For sure it's temporarely. It will come back. Thanks Mys (Defender thread) and Rune Kristoffersen for Kenneth contact. Appreciate. Best, Franck Siter Lenke til kommentar Del på andre sider Flere delingsvalg…
