Re-registered! Another Series 2 Saved

Thought i would share my little story for all to enjoy.

 

I purchased this project Series 2 from a neighbour who started the project back in 1990's (ish)

The car was delivered in boxes and pieces. So a full chassi up restoration had to take place.

 

Took me 7 months (long hours) and some cash to get it into a registerable condition.

Then Vegvesen gave me the run around, lost paper work, could not find it, etc etc. 3 months later i get granted approval as owner despite no paperwork.

Vehicle was finally inspected and approved by vegvesen.

EU control complete with minor comments.

 

and now i can finally enjoy and drive this S2!

if you see me on the road (or side of the road) please wave!

 

hopefully i will join the Rogoland sunday meets when the resume after the summer.

Congratulations! What a great Land Rover.
Great job. It inspire me to finish and build my own Series 2.

Thanks! however.... now that i have managed to put some miles into it, its time to have a closer look at the gearbox.... i know they are noisy but i dont think they are meant to be this noisy!

If my memory isn't too screwed up, i think the user manual for my 1970 109 S2A said something like: "Gearbox noises doesn't matter too much, it is more a matter of how much noise the driver can tolerate"

haha! would be good to go for a drive in someone else series to know if what im hearing is "normal"
