  1. Thank you. It is definitely an adventure with all its ingredients :o)
  2. This was exactly what I would have needed, and they have the greasenipples in the u-joints as well. Thank you for your help. Would have been the better solution. I took the quicker. But I ‘ll remember that.
  3. Thank you all. The propshaft is changed, the travel can continue on Tuesday. The bearings of the inner u-joint was broken. So I could give back the rental car before the weekend. Thank you so much. Here is the picture of it:
  4. And I have to admit, it is a beautiful place to wait for spare parts here
  5. Oh, didn’t know about that. This is interesting. Is this a replacement for the defender front propshaft? Because we have changed to the Discovery II TD5 propshaft TVB000110 when we put in OME Springs back in 2006. So we‘ve changed the flange as well. So unfortunately I need the Discovery propshaft again to keep things easy on the way. Modyfiing things away from original is not a good thing for overlanding, I know. But I have ordered some other parts as well, so it’s ok for me. Thank you for this valuable information. Have a beautiful new year, Steffen
  6. Thank you so much Kurt. have a happy new year as well, Steffen
  7. Hi Eirik, I wish you a happy new year as well. It was the front propshaft that made the noises and the rattling, so thankfully not the motor. Thanks mate
  8. Thank you so much. We are looking forward to go further, but have to wait for the new propshaft from England. Next week we hopefully will go to the north. Northern Lights? We are so thankful that we had several beautiful ones over Christmas time. See the attached foto. I can’t wait to practice your ideas, Leif :o)
  9. Thank you so much for the link. This was a very important information, how you get your spareparts here in Noway. It helped me a lot. I have ordered my spare parts there now. Now I went through the whole process and I am confident now to get along here in Norway with our Defender. Thank you so much for your great help. Happy new year!
  10. If I think what would have happened to ship the car to Trondheim only to change the front driveshaft... They would have had a good laugh...
  11. You have nailed it! This morning I‘ve checked the Driveshafts again myself and found a destroyed bearing in the front driveshaft. Because I have the double joint from the disco2 mounted and the fault is in there, I‘ll order the whole thing with nuts and bolts. So it is easy to change. The Driveshaft with all the bearings made already 200.000 Km so I think it is the best to change the whole thing. And I’ll order a waterpump and some other parts as well... Thank you so much for all your valued help, thank you all! You have a great community! I wish you all a happy new year!
  12. Thank you so much for this information. I think we will try this. But better in 2018 :o) so all the best for you in 2018
  13. Thank you for your help. Yesterday we phoned hurtigruten and they told us that the maximum height is 2.40m. Sadly our car is 2,65m high, so hurtigruten is not an option. The roof is not removable. Well, as removable as the original roof. But thank you for the idea. Have a beautiful new year, mate
  14. By the way, „ shipping to Trondheim is a financial Desaster“ is what the man from NAF told me. I asked him how much and he wouldn’t tell me. Just too much. It seems he doesn’t want to help me either before the weekend. Even not for money. Very interesting.
  15. Yeah, well... They were very friendly. Yesterday a new problem came up. When I give some throttle, something is vibrating. So we went to Bil I Nord for checking out both things. They found a small leak in a hose of the watersystem. They didn’t know which part it is, neither do I. They said that this is not a big problem, just top up. The rattling noise they have thought is something with the motor, they didn’t make a testdrive though. They recommended to ship the car to Trondheim to the LR Garage. For the Hurtigruten our car is to high. I just wanted to rent a car at Herz that was in an Opel garage. So we talking a bit and the mechanic there made a test drive with me and thought that it is nothing with the motor but with the drivechain. He checked the shafts but couldn’t find something. He thought that if it is something with them, anybody can fix it on the way. So if it is getting worse and fault is clearer then go to the next garage available. We are thinking at the moment what we‘ll do next... especially which direction. Maybe home, selling it and buy a new car for this filming trip, or try to drive further on until it breaks down completely... Shipping from the North to Trondheim would be a financial disaster... Our German mobile club would pay for the towing up to 3000 Kroner... the rest is at us. At least they would pay for wrecking... These are the news for today. Greetings from Leknes
